JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DEPUTY MANAGER- PURCHASE
Experience : 10 -15 Yrs
Location: Coimbatore
Qualification: BE (Mech/EEE) or DME/DEEE
KEY CAPABILITIES:
- Efficient in designing and implementing key sourcing strategies (direct purchase), effective in ensuring that plans are aligned with project / demand requirements
- Resourceful in managing day-to-day relationship with vendors, customers, transporters, shipping lines & freight forwarders, from placement of order till delivery of shipment, rate negotiations as to ensure achievement of service and quality norms for smooth flow of operations & supply of required items
- Capabilities in demand forecasting and supervision of internal supply chain processes and linkages with business plans to ensure stocks availability to meet business goals
- Proficient in instituting inventory level goals for assigned materials, initiating action for review of levels in dynamic business scenario; monitoring day-to-day supplier performance to ensure meeting of service, cost, delivery and quality norms
- An ambitious & hardworking individual with excellent relationship management and negotiation skills and the efficiency to manage time effectively
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing purchase and procurement strategies and ensuring its alignment with the organizational objectives through accurate scheduling.
- Demand Planning with respect to demand history and modifying stock norms effectively
- Planning, Procurement Processes and Inventory Control
- Monitor and Optimize Supply Service Level with tools like FFR, Schedule Adherence, On Time Supplies
- Kitting Activity at vendors end to reduce man hours/lead time at warehouse and cost/scrap reduction
- Implementing inventory control measures to reduce obsolete stock and keep tab on slow moving items
- Monitoring regular price amendments and smooth bill passing of vendors
- High levels of integrity & professionalism in transactions & conduct with suppliers.
- Setting up the weekly, monthly, quarterly procurement plan.
- Planning and budgeting of purchase functions, involving cost estimation, contract negotiations.
- Evaluating vendors & negotiating the price, delivery schedule and terms and conditions with them.
- Liaison with the PPC & Production department to maintain optimum inventory.
- Implementing systems to avoid situations like over-stocking or out-of-stock.
- Liaison with R&D and Quality for generating VA/VE and cost saving idea generation and execution
- Manages the procurement strategy implementation / sourcing execution.
- Monitoring RM scheduling & Systems Adherence & Vendor performance.
- De-Bottlenecking the critical parts for production
- Executing inventory control & inventory analysis on a monthly basis for all the materials
- Supplier capacity planning and optimum utilization of manufacturing facilities in alignment with future and strategic planning with cost effective of existing products
- Co-ordination between Product Design team and Supplier for ECN change Stock Depletion, Tooling changes and ensuring the smooth implementation of Projects with suppliers
- Crisis Management on both quality and quantity aspects of components and consolidated procurement strategy
- Should have knowledge in SAP MM Module
- Implementation of milk run process
- Vendor managed Inventory implementation
- Should have experience in Optimising number of vendors
- Establish, manage and improve Vendor rating and score card.
