Job Summary:
The Senior Industrial Engineer will lead the development and optimization of manufacturing systems, processes, and layouts in a motor manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing quality through lean methodologies and time-motion studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct time and motion studies, work sampling, and line balancing for motor assembly and component manufacturing lines.
- Knowledge in PPAP, PFD, PFMA, control plan documents.
- Lead productivity improvement initiatives across the shop floor using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma tools.
- Analyse and improve material flow, plant layout, workstation design, and ergonomics.
- Implement capacity planning and equipment utilization strategies based on production forecasts.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, automation, and elimination of non-value-added activities.
- Collaborate with design, quality, production, and maintenance teams to implement new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for various operations.
- Evaluate and justify capital investments in tools, jigs, fixtures, and automation.
- Monitor and report on key industrial engineering metrics such as takt time, OEE, cycle time, and line efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and continuous improvement in workplace ergonomics.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in time study, line balancing, and capacity analysis
- Hands-on experience with plant layout and facility planning
- Familiarity with SAP and industrial engineering software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.)
- Exposure to motor manufacturing or automotive component manufacturing is highly preferred

- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt
